Funding

Free for 2 (FF2)

Free for 2 (year old) funding is supported by Broughton Cottage Day Nursery, based upon 2 days per week attendance (days subject to availability), during the hours 08.30am to 04.00pm, term time only, to a total of 570 hours per annum.  This funding is subject to the family meeting the eligibility criteria laid down by Kent County Council.  Additional hours/days in school holiday can be purchased and paid for separately.  The application for the funding is made by the parents, but our management would be very pleased to assist with any aspects of this, which can be found at –

Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE)

Free Early Education Entitlement for 3 and 4-year olds is also supported by Broughton Day Nursery, which will begin at the start of the school term following the child’s 3rd birthday.  All we require is a copy of a birth certificate/passport as proof of entitlement. You may have read about the free 15/30 hours per week, this applies to the 38-week school year, because we are open in school holiday time as well (50 weeks a year), we stretch the funding over the calendar year on an equal monthly basis.  Stretching the funding evenly over the year was considered easier for parents’ administration and budgeting.  The maximum amount of funding is either 570 hours per annum (Universal hours), which equates to 11.4 hours per week over 50 weeks, or 1140 hours per annum including an additional 570 hours (22.8 hours a week), which is subject to eligibility criteria.  This can be checked at https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare

We would still offer term time only attendance (38 weeks a year), up to 30 hours per week, subject to availability.

We provide an invoice at the start of each school term, for the monthly fees due, after deduction of the funding and remain available to answer any questions you may have.
